This little nest held at least 4 or 5 baby birds, when I checked on them, their little beaks were all straight up in the air waiting for some food.

Our family met up with our friends and their baby, and headed to the local zoo-- not to see the animals but to have a picnic and play on the playground. While there, it rained and we got serenaded by a man who, in his words, "Was famous but wasn't going to drop any names of people I have sung with" and then proceeded to tell us who exactly he had sung with. He also shook my friends' hubby's hand for an awkwardly long time, which at the end of, he (my friends' hub) says, "Let go of my hand Now, man". Since it was pouring rain at this point, we decided to pack up the PB and J and head over to their place to hang out with their crazy dog and eat some chips and salsa-- the perfect end to a less-than-perfect evening.

The irises we have in our front yard first grew in my grandparents yard, then were split and given to my parents, and my dad passed some onto us.

I have packed a lunch in this bag or another almost every single school day this year. It takes a lot of thinking to make a "different" lunch each day... something healthy and with a little variety from day to day. Let's just say there are a lot of ways you can make a peanut butter sandwich! :)

I have been hoarding my birthday/christmas money away and have quite a little stash... I broke into it when I decided to buy this market basket-- great for the market or picnics!

I love the smell of clean laundry, I could just hold a shirt up to my nose all day and breathe in.

Happy Mothers' Day! A bittersweet day for a stepmom/mom to be sure... (not seeing the stepdaughter but getting to be with the son) but it still was a great day. The hubs bought me two hanging baskets for the porch, H bought me a dove candy bar, and I also got a great card that H picked out. It was a great day-- went to my mom's for lunch, then over to the hub's moms house for dinner.

We love to be outdoors in the warm months and we took advantage of it on a day H had 1/2 day of school. Off to a favorite trail.. where I asked her to climb the small hill we saw to see what was on the other side. (construction!) Here, she runs down.

H loves to catch bugs... this time it was a caterpiller. She wanted to keep it so we put it in a jar and then i had to make her release it before bedtime.
